F IL MS OPENING: THURSDAY

THURSDAY T H U R S D A Y

BEFORE SUNRISE Sadly, after years of excessive drug use and repeated
listenings to "Frampton Comes Alive!" "Slacker" writer-director Richard
Linklater was just too dazed and confused to notice what a piece of crap,
glorified Lemonheads video of a film this is. With Ethan "Generation X"
Hawke. At Briarwood: 1:10, 3:50, 7:00, 9:15.At Showcase: 12:25, 2:40,

HIGHLANDER 3 Not to be confused with the earlier tour-de-forces "High-
lander" or "Highlander 2: Electric Boogaloo," this "Highlander," about a
shy, conscientious mountain shepard whose three favorite goats just don't
*understand the meaning of community will be shown as a double bill with

12:25.
DEMON KNIGHT Although rumored to be more horrifying than the Broadway
song and dance version of Stephen King's "Carrie," (an accomplishment
not to be overlooked), in actuality, this film version of "Tales From the
Crypt" is as lame as the TV show. At Showcase: 12:10, 2:10, 4:55, 7:45,

Showcase: 2:00, 4:25.
*LEGENDS OF THE FALL See Brad Pitt flip his golden locks and look generally
disheveled and tortured. This watered-down Western is so paint-by-
numbers, it makes "Demon Knight" look original. At Briarwood: 1:00,
