with less than a period left to play in
the championship game of the Great
Lakes Invitational Tournament, the
Michigan hockey team pulled off
one of the most exciting and fantas-
tic finishes in recent memory. Todd
Brost scored twice, and Kent Broth-
ers and Rob Brown each tallied a
goal to knot the game at five. In
double overtime. Mike Moes snuck
the puck through a defenseman's
legs, scored. and the hockey team
brought back t. Ann Arbor a cham-

pionship of its own.
Toughest Loss
The Michigan Hockey Team
After receiving home-ice in the
Central Collegiate Hockey Associa-
tion playoffs for the first time ever,
Michigan lost in the opening round.
In the third and deciding game,
Bowling Green's Rob Blake scored
the winning goal in triple overtime
to end the Wolverines season. All
this despite the Performance of the
year, turned in by goaltender Warren
Sharples, who tallied over 50 saves,

many of them dazzling.
Biggest Laugh
The Michigan Volleyball Team
Sorry coach Joyce Davis, but this
is just so sad, it's funny. Okay, you
beat a very competitive Iowa team in
the conference, but who else? Who?
I can't hear you? What was your
record in the Big Ten? 1-}7?
1-17?
Biggest Wimp Bill Frieder
Yep, he leaped out of Michigan
on the eve of the tournament to take
a job at Arizona State. He said it

hurt that the fans didn't appreciate
him. Well Bill, no one really appre-
ciated you jumping ship, and the
Michigan students don't appreciate
the black eye you gave this school
with your antics and comments.
Good riddance.
And congratulations to Bo
Schembechler for making the Call
of the Year when he said he wanted
a Michigan man to coach a Michi-

gan team in the tournament. It pro-
vided the Biggest Fairy Tale of the
Season, as Steve Fisher led Michi-
gan to the national title.
Someone should tell Steve he can
wake up now.
Biggest Surprise Mike Gillette

wins as the best place to get the
folks to take you to dinner. And it's
no wonder-* the food is superb and
the atmosphere is sublime. Just hold
your wine glass as the train goes by.
PLACE TO DO LUNCH
Afternoon Delight (251 E.
Liberty)
While one reader responded he
doesn't do lunch. lunch is done, and
done well in this town. It was a
tight race, but the healthier-eaters in
town votec for A.D. The salads are
huge. and the muffins are fresh.

DORM CAFETERIA (tie)
Bursley/South Quad
South Quad's wacky neon atmo-
sphere tied with Bursley's relatively
decent dormatory cuisine for best
Dorm Cafeteria. Appetizing food or
atmosphere? You make the call.
DELIVERY Domino's
(1031 E. Ann)
They deliver, all right. The only
guaranteed fastest pizza in town.
Plus, the only pizza you can cat at
the 50-yard line of Michigan Sta-
dium or watching Trammell hit a
