FRIDAY

MYSTIC PIZZA (Donald Pet-
rie, 1988) Michigan Theater 7:00
Rotten title, really a good film.
About three women in the small
town of Mystic who have their own
views of life and love. A large cut
above anything else of this genre.
STOP MAKING SENSE
(Jonathan Demme, 1984) Michi-
gan Theater 9:00
One of the best concert films
around. The Talking Heads are
filmed during their "Speaking in
Tongues" tour. Their music and
Demme's direction are a great
match.

PINK FLOYD: THE WALL
(Alan Parker, 1982) Michigan
Theater 10:45
Bob Geldof stars in this mix of
real people and animation. With
music by the guys in the title.
Another music film from a major
director.
THE FESTIVAL OF ANI-
MATION (Various Directors,
1988) MLB 3 7:00, 8:40, &
10:20
Animated films from all over, the
best of the best. Country's repre-
sented include Czechoslovakia, the
Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria,
Great Britain, Canada, and the U.S.
Features Cristov Simon's twisted
short "Hello, Dad, I'm In Jail."

VIDEODROME (David Cro-
nenberg, 1983) MLB 4 7:00
People's heads blow up in this
thriller by Cronenberg, who also
did The Fly and Dead Ringers.
Stars James Woods with a cameo
from Debby Harry.
THE FLY (David Cronenberg,
1986) MLB 4 9:00
Remake of the old Vincent Price
classic, but updated with DNA and
modern technology. And a bit of
gore. Jeff Goldblum is terrific as
the "Brundlefly" and Geena Davis
co-stars.
CHARADE (Stanley Donen,
1963) Nat Sci 7:00
Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant.
Need I say more? Audrey's husband
dies and a bunch of odd men chase
her for some hidden loot. Cary

steps in to help, but he has more
identities than a cat has lives,
making him just as suspect as the
rest. Great fun.
BREAKFAST AT TIF-
FANY'S (Blake Edwards, 1961)
Nat Sci 9:05
Audrey Hepburn is Holly
Golightly, who comes to the big
city to make it big. She plans on
marrying a rich Brazilian but falls
in love with an American instead.
With George Peppard, Patricia
Neal, and a terrific cameo by
Mickey Rooney.
SATURDAY
GUESS WHO'S COMING
TO DINNER (Stanley Kramer,
1967) 1429 Hill Street 7:00 &
9:30

The last film that Katherine
Hepburn and Spencer Tracey made
together and two of the finest
performances you can find any-.
where. They play a married couple
whose daughter brings home her
fiance and they are shocked to find
he is Black. WIth Sidney Poitier.
THE AMAZING ADVEN-
TURE (Alfred Ziesler, 1936)
AUD A 7:00
Cary Grant is a wealthy man
whose doctor reccomends that he
take a year off and go out and earn a
living. Easier said than done. He
bets his doctor he can do it, but
finds that having money is a nice
convenience especially when you
fall in love..
