Gunnen hold Dutch children

ASEN, The Netherlands (AP) - Two
South Moluccan terrorist squads arm-
ed with submachine guns, were holding
105 children hostage in a country school
and SO persons captive aboard a hijack-
ed train in the northern Netherlands last
night, authorities said.
The attackers, virtually repeating a
similar double terrorist action of 18
months ago, apparently were making a
new bid to force the Dutch government
to help them gain independence from
Indonesia for their Asian island home-
land, once a Dutch colony.
THE TANDEM ATTACKS, launched
almost simultaneously two days before
the Dutch general elections, occurred
about 10 miles from each other in the
farm country outside this small city.
Police said there were believed to be
six South Moluccans in ,one group and

seven in the other.
There were no reports of casualties,
although authorities said shots were
fired at both locations. At the school,
where six teachers were also being
held, the gunmen were allowing food
and drink to be brought in.
The terrorists issued no immediate
demands, but Dutch Justice Minister
Andreas van Agt said he understood
that letters from the gunmen were on
their way to government officials.
IN THE SOUTHERN Dutch town of
Vlaardingen later yesterday, police took
six Moluccans into custody for ques-
tioning after they were seen waiting at
the station as a train approached. Po-
lice said it was suspected than another
hijacking may have been planned there.
