MILWAUKEE - Dick Mc-
Auliffe, Norm Cash and Bill
Freehan combined to drive in
eight runs and power the De-
troit Tigers to a 12-3 victory
over the Milwaukee Brewers last
night.
McAuliffe drove in two runs
wit ha leadoff home run in the
fourth and a triple in the sixth.
Freehan slammed his 17th
home run, a three-run shot over
the left field fence, to cap a
four-run third inning. It was his
fourth homer in two games.
Cash added a sacrifice fly and
a two-run homer in the ninth.
A's get twin win
BOSTON - The high-riding
Oakland A's opened a 10-game
Eastern swing by sweeping a
day - night doubleheader from
the Boston Red Sox yesterday,
winning the opener 6-5 on Gene
Tenace's two-out single in the
ninth inning and taking the
nightcap 7-5 with the help of
homeruns by Sal Bando, Reggie
Jackson and Dave Duncan.
