Leonard E. Goodall. vice chan-
cellor of the Universi.y of Illi-
nois at Chicago Circle, has been
named chancellor of the Uni-
versity's Dearborn campus, ef-
fective July 1.
President Robben Fleming an-
n,)unced Goodall's appointment
y sterday. Goodall was one of
the nomine-s recommended ear-
lier by the D~arborn Campus
Chancellor S-lection Advisory
Committee. The Regents, meet-
ing May 21. authorized Fleming
to appoint Goodall. It is expect-
ed that they will confirm the
appointment at their June 18
meeting,
It had been announced Feb-
ruary 25 that Robert Maier, vice-
chancellor of the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay, had been
named to the newly-creased U-
M - Dearborn chancellorship.
However, U-M Regents were in-
formed May 21 that Maier, with
great reluctance, w a s with-
drawing his acceptance of the
position for health reasons.
Goodall, 34, will hold the rank
of professor of political science
at Dearborn. A specialist in the
field of urban politics, hse has
been acting direc or of the Cen-
ter for Urban Studies at Chica-
go Circle while the center evol-
ved into a new College of Urban
Sciences.
