THE MOROCCANS said they1
had captured "important quan-
tities" of heavy equipment, in- ,
cluding artillery, mortars and
ground - to - air missiles.
The Moroccans took 72 priso-

coast port of Villa Cisneros,
now called Dakhla Arboub. The
Algerians have claimed refugee
camps in the area were bomb-
ed by Moroccan aircraft follow-
ing fierce ground fighting.
But sources in the Mauritan-
ian capital of Nouakchott said
a town in northern Mauritania
near the Sahara border had
been subjected to machine gun
and mortar fire in recent days.
They said the situation in the
area 50 miles south of Amghala
fighting zone seemed "calmer"
Thursday.
Arab countries dispatched
top-level mediators to both
countries to prevent the conflict
from getting out of hand. With
the Lebanese civil war still un-
settled, they were anxious to
prevent another intramural
conflict from erupting into
large-scale war.

and the manager, both Argen-
tines. Neither was at the plant.
Just then Personnel Manager
Jorge Zaralenga and Industrial
Relations Chief Alberto Olavar-
rieta arrived for work, and the
intruders sprayed them with
machine-gun fire. A policeman
passing by rushed in and was
shot dead as he drew his pistol,
officers said.
POLICE IDENTIFIED the at-
tackers. as left-wing guerrillas'
and it was believed the killings
were connected to a labor con-
flict. However, no guerrilla
group took responsibility for ,
the raid and no explanation was
immediately available.
The Bendix subsidiary makes
automotive brakes and hydrau-
lic units.
Sources close to the situation
said Bendix, like many other
industrial companies, wanted to:
lay off workers because of a
drop in demand but were pre-
vented by the unions. Although
the dismissals were not imple-
mented, the sources said, dis-
putes have continued over sala-
ries. No Bendix spokesman
could be reached for comment.
Serious labor difficulties have l

acuve esptle crackdowns.
Hours earlier, police shot and
killed three youths they identi-
fied as leftist guerrillas who
were caught at a traffic check-
point.
The new deaths brought to at
least 57 the number of persons
killed in political violence since
Jan. 1, counting victims of the
left, the right and government
farces. The 1975 toll was near
900.
Metnwhile, an ad hoc group
linking eight of the most impor-
tant industrial and business as-
sociations in Argentina demand-
ed the government restore or-
der, stabilize the economy and
allow adequate prices.
IF NOT, the group said, the
leaders would implement an un-
defined shutdown and cease tax
payments, exerting pressure
similar to that which helped
topple Chilean President Salva-
dor Allende in 1973. At a meet-
ing Wednesday night, 800 busi-
ness leaders heard the group
chairman, Federico Pena, de-
clare: "The present situation is
the antechamber of destruc-
tion."
