classes these days to learn more
about recession and improve
their chances of finding a job'

"We've had a phenomenal in-
crease, primarily because of the
general economic conditions in
thet nation," said Kamerschen.
Enrollment in economics
courses has increased 40 per
cent in two years at the Uni-
jversity of Massachusetts in Amn-
herst. "Students are concer-ned
about their own economic se-
curity when they get out,' said
George Treyz, a professor at1
the school. "They are turning
to economics as a more prac-
tical, career-oriented course."',

"That's why business adminis-
tration has gown so much.
