"We've had a phenomenal in- crease, primarily because of the general economic conditions in thet nation," said Kamerschen. Enrollment in economics courses has increased 40 per cent in two years at the Uni- jversity of Massachusetts in Amn- herst. "Students are concer-ned about their own economic se- curity when they get out,' said George Treyz, a professor at1 the school.
