The University Cellar started back in 1969 because students thought that prices in
Ann Arbor were too high. The Cellar's prices are as low as we can make them. We are a
non-rrof it store - no one gets rich off your money. The store is run by students for students.
We try to carry the things that you want and need at a price that you can afford. Feel free to
come in and say hello and give us your suggestions. We are open seven days and four nights
a week.
And this year we have a new thing-BOOKS. We try to have all the books that you
need for your classes plus lots more. We have lots of used books. We also sell new books at
5% off the publisher's suggested price. Come on in and buy your books here.
That's what we are here for-to provide products and services to the students when-
ever they are over-Triced or unavailable in Ann Arbor. That's why the store introduced the
4c Xerox copy to a community that had been paying 9c a copy, rented a 3 cu. ft. refrigerator
for $5.00 a month to folks that had to pay $7.00 for a 2.5 cu. ft. refrigerator before we arrived
on the scene. Not to mention 10c Bic pens. These aren't exceptions, but rather the rule.
