Michigan's basketball hopesv
both present and future will be
oi display Monday night as Coach
Bill Perigo sends his varsity cagers
against Matt Pattanelli's tall'
freshman squad at 8:00 in Yost
Field House.
Perigo, despite the fact that he
lost his top rebounders and scor-
ers in George Lee and M. C. Bur-
ton through the graduation route,
will field a seasoned team. With
Captain Terry Miller, Johnny'
,Tidwell, and Lovell Parris on the

court the varsity will try to make
up its height disadvantage with
speed and outside shooting.
The only man on the floor for
varsity over 6'3" will be 6'6" Rich
Donley. The fifth starter for Peri-
go wil be either veteran Rich Rob-
bins or sophomorme Dick Clark.
For the freshmen, who will field
a team averaging 6'5", it will be
Tomn Cole, 6'7" and Don Petroff,
6'3", at the forwards. Either 6'5"
Dave Knoll or 6'7" Dana Bald-
win at the pivot post, and Jim

USED CARS

Ludwig, 6'5", and Dave Burris,
6'3", at the guards. However, little
5'9" Tom Evland and Jack Lind-
quist, 6'", will probably see plen-
ty of action.
This year's freshman team, the
first one with any good size in
many a year appears to hold the
key to the basketball fortunes of
Michigan. The game Monday
should be a good indication of the
Wolverines' future as well as a
good test for the varsity. The ad-
mission is free.
