the military and is not to be trust-
ed.
The students think that Ky has
nothing new to offer the Vietna-
mese people and therefore must
be replaced. Delin added that op-
inion differed only as to whether
he should be removed by violent
or non-violent means.
Delin said that the students are
united in their call for national
elections as the only way to gain
popular support for a social revo-
lution. Only through popular elec-
tions will the people be able to
identify with the government, he
explained Delin said the students
feel that Ky paid only lip service
to the social revolution at the
Honolulu Conference inFebruary
and really was not interested in it.
Most students have no interest
in negotiating with the National
Liberation Front, Delin continued.
The Buddhists explained that
they would not negotiate because
they feel that there is not at the
present time a respectable govern-
ment in Saigon to negotiate with
the NLF, said Delin. For this rea-
son national elections must first
be held before there can be any
talk of negotiations.
Delin said that some students
are opposed to negotiating with
the NLF because they are violent
anti-Communists. He explained

that the students would find a
Communist takeover distasteful
because they, as the intellectuals
of the country, would be the first
ones on the "firing lines",
Buddhists exercise tight control
over the students, a fact that was
admitted by Buddhist leaders. De-
lin said as a result, much student
opinion also reflects that of the
Buddhists.
Delin said that the students
were "extremely frustrated and
disillusioned, with no way to re-
late to what they feel is an un-
accountable government and a
corrupt society."
Sherburne said that in addition
to assessing the feeling of South
Vietnamese students, the.NSA del-
egation hoped to make arrange-
ments for a suitable exchange vis-
it by South Vietnamese student
leaders.
This exchange trip will not be
possible, Sherburne said, because
the students "we would want to
visit the U.S. won't be able to
leave at this time." He said that
the students felt that their own
activities at this point were so
important that they couldn't af-
ford to leave the country and that
the government was generallydun-
willing to have any student dele-
gation leave now because of the
unstable political conditions."

WOULD YOU LIKE TO READ
1000 to 2000 WORDS A MINUTE
WITH FULL COMPREHENSION & RETENTION
EASE PRESSURE-SAVE TIME-IMPROVE CONCENTRATION
You can read 150-200 pages an hour using the ACCELERATED READING method.
You'll learn to comprehend at speeds of 1,000 to 2,000 words a minute. And retention is
excellent.
This is NOT a skimming method; you definitely read every word.
You can apply the ACCELERATED READING method to textbooks and factual ma-
terial as well as to literature and fiction. The author's style is not lost when you read at these
speeds. In fact, your accuracy and enjoyment in reading will be increased.
Consider what this new reading ability will enable you to accomplish-in your re-
quired reading, and in the additional reading you want to do.
No machines, projectors, or apparatus are used in learning the ACCELERATED READ-
ING method. Thus the reader avoids developing ANY dependence upon external equipment
in reading. The new reading skill is permanently retained.
An afternoon class and an evening class in ACCELERATED READING will be taught
each TUESDAY adjacent to the U. of M. campus, beginning on MAY 24. This is our Sixth
semester of classes in Ann Arbor,
Be our guest at a 30-minute public DEMONSTRATION of the ACCELERATED
READING method, and see it applied by U. of M. students who have recently completed the
course.
BRING A BOOK!
Demonstrations will be held at the BELL TOWER INN, located at 300 S. Thayer St.
(across from Hill Auditorium).
WEDNESDAY, May 11 at 7:30 P.M.
THURSDAY, May 12 at 7:30 P.M.
