FROSH GAME POSTPONED:
Stadium Snowed In

The premature snow that hat
fallen in the last two days has
caused a super neadache for Mich-
igan Athletic Director H. 0. (Fritz)
Crisler.
The nine-inch snowfall has
transformed Michigan Stadium
into one gigantic concentric ski
slope. Crisler and Michigan Golf
Coach Bert Katzenmeyer worked
all yesterday with the ground
crews in clearing the stands and
playing field for the Wolverines'
game with the Illini tomorrow.
The unprecedented white torna-
do has also put a crimp into
Wolverine Head Coach Bump El-
liott's practice plans. Elliott has
sent his team to the shelter of
Yost Field House for the last two'
practices.
When asked whether the indoor
practices would impair Michigan's

chances in the game with Illinois,
Elliott said, "There's no way of
telling for sure. All I can say is
that it's not snowing in Cham-
paign."
The Michigan freshman game
with Toledo scheduled for tonight
has been postponed by the athletic
department because of the poor
condition of Ann Arbor High's
Hollway Field after the snow
storms of the past two days.
A new date is being sought for
the contest, with next Friday as
the likeliest choice.

GRID SELECTIONS
Les Etter, this week's guest selector and Michigan's athletic pub-
licity director, must really have it in for Woody Hayes. Sure Ohio
State has only beaten Wisconsin in conference play, but how can he
ignore the Buckeyes' valiant struggles with Michigan State and
Illinois? Sure, Indiana has a tie with Minnesota to its credit as well as
a victory over Northwestern, but isn't that selection adding insult to
injury?
