I j t wanted to pond to th bus' ue.
To that you don't want your hool bu in B nton Harbor
after dar w the most ignorant tatement that I could hav
h rd coming from a I der' 'mouth.
That' right, I der. And the d part about it i . om of our
children re under that I dership. '
To m it ho what you think about people in Benton
Harbor.
. The bus incident with the rock was some teen m . you
didn't even try to find out how Benton Harbor parenU; feel
about th' mall handful of uncontrollable t ns that we all
have.
We have a .lot of good young people and also parents in this
community.
, I WERE IN your position a uperintendent, before I
make decisions and tatements like that, I would sit down with
the other two uperindentent from Benton Harbor and
Coloma. Invite some parents from n three districts and dis
cu thi situation and maybe it wouldn't hurt to have some
police office in the meeting.
If that area was included in the concerns, or was aware when
that bus was to arrive, they could have looked out for it.
Neighborhood Watch Groups can form and do that. Benton
Harbor has a very strong Parent Advisory Group that could
have addressed your concerns and help to find a better solution.
People who are poor, on drugs, ignorant - or whatever
outside communities want to call them, they also care about
their babi . Maybe they clothe, feed or discipline them prop
erly (just like everyone else), they respect it when orneone else
sincere is helping and teaching their children.
We have weak people out there. It doesn't mean that deep
down inside they don't care. Those of us 'who have strength,
somebody has to do it, whether you want to or not,
Communicate with Benton Harbor. We understand English.
Then if you can't get support from us, make your decisions. We
are innocent until proven guilty.
