their 31st Annual Convention
August 2-7. .
An estimated 15,000 people from

They worshiped, prayed, adopted
budgets and resolutions, elected

financial goals in the church and the
community.
THE FINALE, PBNC's
Freedom Night, featured Rev. Je se
Jackson as keynote speaker. Also,
during Freedom Night, Judge
Damon J. Keith was presented with
the Freedom Award for outstanding
African American jurist.
The Convention brought in an es
timated $10 million to the city of
Detroit.
Rev. John Mungir Sr. of Brook
lyn, NY was happy that Detroit was
chosen as the site for this year's con
vention.
. ttl am glad they chose Detroit be
cause the people of the city have been
going through a lot of suffering wi th
the lost of jobs. And yet, they carry
on. The convention is bringing a lot
of money in, not necessarily for the
Black community, but for Detroit,"
he stated.

met in Detroit in 1963.
