THE ECONOMY IS so bad
right now, Hom said that the time
isn't right to correct the people's
misperceptions about reverse dis-
disorganized energies into a revolu
tionary mas en rgy capable of at

liberation and unification of Africa
under scientific ocialism. Pan

struggle within the Pan-African
Movement for ideological clarity, a

Tlmes ar 'e pecially difficult
now, according to Hom, because of
the nation's poor economy: People
want to hold on to whatever they
have, he s.aid.
"The economy is making us all
behave like kids with candy," Hom
said.
"If we have a large bag, we'll
share it with anyone. Whoever,
when the bag gets smaller and
smaller, we get selfish."

Hom said education is the key to
solving this problem, in school and
in the media.
"Reverse di crimination is in
vogue for the media right now, and
it's notfactual," he aid. "The media
perpetuate the mi perception and in-
ccuracies of the public's beliefs
about reverse discrimination." ,
"IF WE ESTABLISH a correct
plan for developing this, we could
get rid of the bad name that affirm

years," he said.

can't even get on the ballot. You
have to almo t compromise yourself
to be a candidate, the way things are
organized. "
HE ALSO SAID that a third
party must not overempha ize
election to an office. Instead, he
suggests that the new political party
work primarily to deal realistically
with issues such as homelessness,
jobl and tional health care,
as well as to make the current
potitlcal system more "voter
friendly" and receptive to
independent candidates.
"We must look beyond the 1992
election," he added. "One of the
mistakes of the present movement is
that we assume that our momentum
for the struggle comes by placing
someone as president of a system
that needs to be changed. We must
change the system first. "
