lIighland Park, Martha O. Scott
walked every step of the parade.
The Mayor, while reflecting
on the overcast morning said,
"When a city tart coming
together, weather doe n't mat
ter. "
She added, "Every year I t (the
parade) get better and better."
Dawson, the 70-year-old
Orand Marshal, recently gave
the Negro COllege fund $30,000.
He reflected on that by aying,
"th t wa one of the best invest
ment I've made because the
onl y way we can olve the prob
lem (of non-equality) is through
education. "
Daw on has been getting
around quite a bit lately and he
said, "I think this is a,bout it for
me. I'd like to have some free
time (to do whatever makes him
happy)."
It wa a grand and glorious
parade.
