Peace Corp Ign up for Zimbabw
WASHINGTON-Peace Corps Director PauJ D, Coverdell and
leading Zimbabwe government officials si$ned an historic
agreement Monday, March 18th, in Harare. Zimbabwe, estab
lishing the first Peace Corps program in the African nation.
Zimbabwe Peace Corp volunteers will go into training for the
program beginning in September. There will be 20 to 2S
Americans teaching math, science and vocational education.
Zimbabwe, previou Iy known as Rhodesia, i a nation of over
even million people located in southern Africa.
Director Coverdell visited the Republic of Zimbabwe last
June to continue talks leading to the development of a Peace
Corps program. He is returning Monday to finalize and sign a
formal country agreement.

FURTHERMORE, Botha
. says, "This war (the Gulf war)
should have been
fought."Rather, he should
have said the apartheid
should have never been intro
d uced and- insti tutionalized in
South Aflica. - '
The apartheid evil is worse
than the Gulf fias,co which
Botha hypocritically decries .
Nothing compares with apart
heid which totally uproots
and disenfranchises the entire
Black population of the South
African Sub-Continent!
Borha's argument that Sad
dam Hussein's aggress ion,
vio ation of his neighbor's
territory served no purpose
. boomerangs on the apartheid
regi me '5 aggres ion and
v io la t io ns against the
Africans of South Africa.
The Dutch have brutally
violated the African habitat.
And 'this ha served no good
purpose. Aartheid is a
senseless mania. Hence, it
was doomed, from the outset
to world opposition and rejec
tion.
This pre s release goes on
to say, "The world is entering
a new era in which pol i tical
Objectives can no longer be

is true, and cannot be gain-

CERTAINLY, Soutb Africa
should fir t put it hou e in
order before it attempts to
dabble in tcrnational political
affair with which it is at
variance. 'The problem of
apartheid i the thornie t and
grave t contravention of
human rights thi world has
ever dealth with. It mu t be
tacketed immediately and
obliterated forthwith. It is a
crime to humanity.
