Commission Workshop, City
Attorney John Postelli said
Hadley had bid S30,OOO for the
two city-owned properties as a
·package deal", with the under-
anding that he ould get a
warranty deed for the proper
ties.
Since there was- a S5,500 out
standing mortgage and tax liens
on the properties, Postelli said
he had met with Hadley and
they h d worked out an agree
ment that Hadley will be given
quick cl im deeds to the
. properties and purchase them
for $100 e ch, not $30,000 as he
had originally planned and he
. al 0 would be held liable for the
properties.
Postelli recommended the
sale by quick-claim deed for the
propertie for $100 each.
The other bidders on the
Water Street property, were
.James Cron , South Bend, In
diana and a member of the
City's Downtown Development
Authority Board, (DDA), bid
ding S10, 50 and Adam Con-
(ruction, S1. Joseph, Michigan,
$6,500. Hadley had me highe
bid of $15,000.
WH ARE TRUCKS 0
RESIDENTIAL STREETS
In other business, some is
sues that ere of great impor
t nee brought up by
Commis ioner Charles
Yarbrough. He said there were
three item that he wanted to
bring to the commission. The
first one wa ,he aid he have
notice that a number ·of heavy
trucks loaded with steel, travel
ing and parking on orne of the
re idcntial street . The e heavy
truck can "tear up the under
ground and the urface", What
can be done about it, he said.
Wolf said City Manager
Steve Manning was "wen aware"
of the trucks traveling down the
residential streets and he was
working on the problem.
City Attorney Postelli aid
the City's Engineer would have
to do a traffic study, so he could
determine which treets could
bear the eight and also the en
gineer h' to ize the street for
the appropriate ize of the truck
that would be going down that
treet.
Acting City Manager Sam
Watson, who was sitting in for
Manning, said. the main
problem at thi time. there are
no signs indicating that the
trucks hould not be on the
treets.
"Wh n the signs w up, the
major tree are .the only one
that heavy equipment could
operate n," he said.. .
