Barbdale, ot While trying to
rescue a toddler, was buried fol­
lowing services held Nov. 7 at sr,
Phillip Missionary Baptist
Church.
The o-year veteran of .the
Detroit Police Force was killed
during the line of duty as he at­
tempted to ve the life of a tod­
dler threatened by her father
with a knife.
Barksdale was born January
20, 1965. He was the youngest of
six children. .
He was a graduate 'of Central
High School in Detroit. He later
ttended Henry Ford Com­
munity College. Barksdale was a
member of the Army Reserve
nd in Jan. 1986 joined the
Detroit Police.
He leave to rejoice in his
memory, a son Andre, fiancee
Marsha Wise, mother Owhedon
Holding, three sisters: Valerie
Myle, Sharon Lewis and Crystal
Williams, two brothers Robert

Detroit Police officers were
pallbearers, and honorary
pallbearers were Keith McNear,
Barry Paige, Fredrick King and
Tyrone Williams.
Swansons' Funeral Home
handled arrangements. Inter­
ment at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Rev. Theron Hodges of­
ficiated.
