DETROIT Andre Barbdale, ot While trying to rescue a toddler, was buried fol­ lowing services held Nov. 7 at sr, Phillip Missionary Baptist Church. The o-year veteran of .the Detroit Police Force was killed during the line of duty as he at­ tempted to ve the life of a tod­ dler threatened by her father with a knife. Barksdale was born January 20, 1965. He was the youngest of six children. . He was a graduate 'of Central High School in Detroit. He later ttended Henry Ford Com­ munity College. Barksdale was a member of the Army Reserve nd in Jan. 1986 joined the Detroit Police. He leave to rejoice in his memory, a son Andre, fiancee Marsha Wise, mother Owhedon Holding, three sisters: Valerie Myle, Sharon Lewis and Crystal Williams, two brothers Robert Holding Jr. and Gregory Barksdale, two nieces, three ,comments, Mlctd&Jm Citizen 1603l WoOdward Ave. HIaIlllud MI 48203 nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Detroit Police officers were pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers were Keith McNear, Barry Paige, Fredrick King and Tyrone Williams. Swansons' Funeral Home handled arrangements. Inter­ ment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Theron Hodges of­ ficiated.
