one. Here are thre he rty
chicken entrees that are ure to
please your hungry family.
Chicken Divan is busy
mom's solution to the what's for
dinner dilemma. And when it
comes to good nutrition, this
oven-baked meal has it all.
Chicken is an important
source of lean, high-quality
protein. Stuffing mix offers com­
plex carbohydrates while
asparagus provides a variety of
essential vitamins and minerals.
And a to Sed green salad for
rough ge and a tall glass of milk
for calcium make it a sub tan­
tial and nourishing meal.
Easy Chic en and Rice Bake
is not her one-dish meal.

brea ts, skinned, split and

2 packages (10 oz. each)
Birds Eye asparagus spears
1 package (6 oz.) Stove top
chic en flavor stuffing mix
114 cup butter or margarine
114 cup all-purpose flour
1-3/4 cur- _:n,
1 tablespoon sherry (option­
al)
1 chic en bouillon cube,
crushed
1/4 cup grated Swiss cheese
Slice each chicken piece in
half. Prepare vegetable as
directed on package; drain.
prepare stuffing mix as directed
on package. Meanwhile, melt
butter in saucepan; blend in
flour. Add the milk, sherry and
bouillon cube. Cook and stir
until mixture comes to a boil and
is slightly tickened. Add 2
tablespoons of the cheese and
stir until melted. Spoon stuffing
into shallow baking dish. Top
�th asparagus, then chicken
slices. Pour sauce over chicken.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Place in preheated broiler and
broil until golden brown, about
5 to 8 minutes. Makes 6 servings.

RICE BAKE
2-1/2 pounds chicken pieces
1 envelope Shake 'n Bake
seasoning and coating mixture -
original recipe for chicken
1-1/2 cups water
1 can (10 oz.) Birds Eye green
peas, thawed
113 cup finely chopped onion
Coat chicken with seasoning
ana coating mixture as directed
on package. Combine water,
soup, rice, peas and onion in 3-
quart shallow baking dish; mix
well. Arrange coated chicken on
rice mixture and bake at 400
degrees for 50 minutes or until

cranberry sauce or jellied cran­
berry sauce
1/3 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons butter or mar­
garine
1 teaspoon grated or n
rind
3-1/2 pounds chicken pi c

-1/4 cup very hot tap wat r
1/4 cup butter or margarin
softened
1 pac age (6 oz.) tove t
cornbread stuffmg mix
1/4 cup orange juice or wate
Combine cranberry sauce,
1/3 cup orange juiee , 2
tablespoons butter and the
orange rind in saucepan and
heat until smooth. Place chick­
en, skin side up, in shallow 3-
quart baking dish and sprinkl
with salt and pepper. Brush with
glaze. Bake at 400 degree for
minutes.
Meanwhile, combine hot
water, 1/4 cup butter and con­
tents of vegetable/seasoning
packet in bowl; stir until butter
is melted. Add stuffing crumb
and 1/4 cup orange juice; stir to
moisten. Move chicken to end
sof dish; spoon stuffing into cen­
ter. Brush chic en with remain­
ing glaze and bake 20 minutes
longer. Makes 6 servings.

directed on package and using a
shallow microwave-safe baking
dish. Cook in microwave over at
high for 6 to 8 minutes, or until
heated through.
