by something I ve learned about
him. He wa once gay! I no
that its true becau he m de
the confession. Ho do I handle
this? Little by little I have been
slipping away from him but I
can't seem to let go of our
friendship. He has indeed been
a good friend. I don't know
what to do and I feel so con
fused.

Dear Erik,
About two weeks ago, I dis
covered that there was money
missing from our family owned
business. I went over the
accounts and books several times
and I was very sure that I had
not made a mistake. I then
went to my parents to find out
if they had any information
reguarding the missing funds.
They were shocked and angry
with me for not doing my job
for which I am highly paid!).
I didn't know what to say, so I
just tood there cl to tear .
fe day later it happ n d
a am. Only this time I it
for myself my brother has
been dipping into the till. I
em that he has been doing
it for quite some time and
has been covering it up. I
have al found out that he ha
been d aling with drugs. I
don't no what kind of drug
but I do kno that his per-
nality h s changed from time
to time. e did talk and he
wanted me to promi him that
I ouldn't go to ur parents.
y parents are the kind of
people ho ould tum their
backs on p ople who drink too
much or u drugs. He said that
he would stop using drugs and
would never steal gain. Bu t
can I beli ve him? If this is a
rious problem shouldn't I go
to my parents? I don't kno
the steps I could or ould take.

There within the campus of
the ortbwestem High
School, sat two long, black
limosines. One contained the
native Detroiter, famous
recording artist, Ray Parker Jr.
Seeing the limos, the stu
dents' curiosity was in gear as
each began to as who is it?
whose limos are these? When
the answer reached their ears,
many high-pitched squeals
rang out in unison, "IT'S RA Y
PARKERJR.!!!".
On a visit to his alma
mater Monday, Sept 28, Ray
Parker greeted by a host
.of friends and instructors.
Mobbed by the attending stu- J
dents as he entered the build- RAY PARKER JR lp autographs d visits- t
ing, his intent was merely to his IDa mater, orth tern HIgh School, during a trip to
say hello as well as promote home t Detroit to promote his new album, "After Dar "
his new, soon-to-be released
album, 'After Dark'
Due to a busy schedule,
Ray was not able at that time
to sit for the interview I had
planned.
However, time arrange
ments were made for later.
Sometime later that in the
evening the phone rang, when
I said, Hello?" a soft I aid
bac voice replied, Hello, this
is Ray Parker".
Again, I said, "Hello", this
time with enthusiasm.
Being aware of his limited
time opportunities, I managed
to keep the interview short
and sweet. And it went some
thing like this:
Q: Tell me, Ray, where and
through whom did you get
your tart?
A: I rted out pi yin the
rine t g I hool In
Detroit.
Q: What was the purpose
of the dedication given m your
honor today at the City/Coun
ty building?
