S1.5O,OOO grant to generate ex­
port opportunties for u.s.
Black-owned businesses.
The award was made to
the World Conference of
Mayors, a non profit organiza­
tion headquartered in
Washington, D.C., during a
signing c:ecemony at the Com­
merce Department.
The one-year grant will
be used to prOYide informa­
tion and technical assistance
to help cities in the United
States and abroad identify and
de\dop export trade projects
for Black-owaed oompanies.

series of trade
foreign investment seminars,
and "how to" workshops on ex-
porting.

The World Conference
of Mayors was founded in
1984 in St. Louis, MO. It has
an estimated 1,100 members
in 33 countries, including
Africa, Canada, China,

Jamaica, and the United
States.
