George is still 'on the air"
during the ee hours of th

Being the oldest cab com

United Cab is 0 one of the
olde t busine s of any type.
That make George n and
Company prominent part of
uskegon history, and in parti
cular it Black history.
George remembers well from
ATTENTIO
his location at 840 Pine Street
when Pine Street much
more of a thriving part of
uskegon's central busine
district. At one time Pine
Street wa lined with all ort

George remembers the day
of the migration from the
South when Blacks were driven
in by the true and bus loads
to wor in the local foundrie
such as the no defunct Lakey
Foundry.
George can recall the day
wh n the boarding hou of
the d y gone by rented th
same room to one tenant by
d y and a different occupant
by night.
