Money for home rep
The Planning Department, located in
the Muskegon Heights City Hall, operates
on a grant received from the U.S. Depart
memt of Housing and Urban Develop
ment. It purpo s are to conserve the
City's exi ing housing stoc and to
promote economic development.
Grants hich do not have to be
repaid are available to 10 and moder te
income homeowners living in target
are of the City (see map ofboundarie ).
The grant can be a much as $6,500 and
are used to bring a house into compliance
with the City's housing cod . If you
own a hom in one of the are shown,
you may qualify to help homeowners
that do not live in one of the targeted
are ,the Planning Department also h a
city-wide emergency repair program, 10 -
interest loans, and a paint program.
In . its effort to promote economic
development, the Planning Department
works clo ely with the Economic De -
lopment Corporation and the Downtown
, Development Authority for the retention
and attraction of busine and industry
to our City.
