nsuring that all people are treated
with dignity and respect has
been the guiding force behind a
40-year partnership between a group of
local seventh-graders and adults with
developmental disabilities who are served
by JARC, a Metro Detroit nonprofit whose
mission is to enrich the lives of people
with developmental disabilities.
One of JARC’s longest-standing
partnerships is with Hillel Day School,
an independent K-8 Jewish day school
in Farmington Hills. This year marks
the program’s 40th anniversary, where
each school year, seventh-grade Hillel
students gather monthly with adults with
developmental disabilities served by JARC
to spend time with and enjoy activities
