DONNA
BARNETT,
beloved for 93
years, died Feb.
26, 2024,
surrounded by
her family.
She was born Jan. 31,
1931, in Detroit to Louis
and Viola Weiss; she moved
to California as a young
child, following the tragic
automobile accident death
of her father.
Not one to have the dust
settle under her, Donna
married Robert Barnett
and graduated from Wayne
State University in Detroit
after spending a single
year each at the University
of California Berkeley,
UCLA and the University
of Michigan. She spent
most of her adult life in the
Detroit area before settling
in Boca Raton, Fla.
Donna will be deeply
missed for her zest for
life, friendship, giving
nature and concern for
others. Her passions and
inspiration live on in her
cherished family. Donna
is survived by her three
sons, Steven Barnett
(Stacey), David Barnett,
James Barnett (Julie); and
her grandchildren Brian,
Michael and Amanda.
Funeral services were
held at Temple Beth El, 333
SW 4th Ave., Boca Raton,
FL 33432. Internment took
place at Beth El Mausoleum
of Boca Raton. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests
that donations be made to
the following organization
close to Donna’s heart: St.
Jude Children’s Research
Hospital 501 St. Jude Place,

OBITUARIES
OF BLESSED MEMORY

Everyone experiences loss differently. And

while there is a certain structure in Jewish

funerals and rituals, it’s important that the

event brings something meaningful to all. We

understand that. And we treat your family’s

wishes with all of the respect and compassion

they deserve. From guiding the arrangements

without pressure to the memorial service and the

appearance of the chapel itself, we are here, fully

here, to meet your every need. It’s not the only way we

help ease the burden of a loss. But it’s a special type of

caring that makes a Dorfman difference.
