Mrs. Michaels was the cher-
ished mother of the late Gary
Steven Michaels; the devoted
daughter of the late Benjamin
and the late Clara Levinson.
Interment was at Clover Hill
Park Cemetery. Contributions
may be made to a charity of one’s
choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

ESTHER SKLAR
MINTZ, 94, of
Farmington Hills,
died Feb. 13, 2024.
After graduating
from the University
of Michigan, Esther taught for a
short time in Detroit, then took

time off to raise her children
before returning to teaching.
She received a master’s degree in
reading from Oakland University
and served as a reading consul-
tant for West Bloomfield Schools
for 28 years.
Mrs. Mintz is survived by her
son, Steven Mintz; daughters,
Charlotte “Cathy” Mintz and
Julie Mintz; grandchildren, Seth
Mintz, Sean and Lisa Mintz;
great-grandchild, Caleb Mintz;
many loving nieces, nephews and
cherished friends.
She was predeceased by her
beloved husband of 64 years,
Marvin Mintz; sister and broth-
er-in-law, Melba and Sidney
Winer; her sister, Seena Sklar;
and brother, Gerald Sklar, sis-
ters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Beatrice and Shurly Horwitz,
Lucille and Milton Sims; parents,
Harry and Tillie Sklar; parents-

in-law, Samuel and Charlotte
Mintz.
The family is grateful to
devoted helpers, Karen Kopicko,
Danita Johnson, Mildred
Perkins, Betty White and Laurie
Hill.

died Feb. 11, 2024.
She is survived by
her beloved and devoted hus-
band of 42 years, Jay Prinstein;
son, Justin Prinstein; daughter
and son-in-law, Rachel and

Jeffrey Schostak. She was the
treasured “Mimi” of George
Schostak, Sofia Schostak and
Theodore Schostak; she is also
survived by her mother, Libby
Weingarden; sister, Lauren
Weingarden; sister and brother-
in-law, Janice and Mark Kettler;
brother and sister-in-law,
Sheldon and Judy Klein; special
sister-in-law and brother-in-law,
Andrea Prinstein and Brant
Pifer; many loving nieces, neph-
ews, cousins, colleagues, stu-
dents and a world of friends.
Mrs. Prinstein was pre-
deceased by her sister and
brother-in-law, Donna and
Alan Pearlman; parents,
Shirley Davidson and George
Weingarden; mother-in-law and
father-in-law, Vivian and Allen
Prinstein.
