DR. ROSLYN S. FLETCHER,
99, of Minneapolis, Minn.,
passed away July 19, 2023.
She was preceded in death
by husband, Edward; parents,
Haim and Anuta Silber; and
brother, Hertzl Silber.
She is survived by daughters,
Judith Fletcher (John Rathé),
Dr. Deborah Fletcher, and Dr.
Carolyn (Kevin) Brochman;
grandchildren, Adam Kruma,
Zarya Rathé (Chris Wright),
Anuta Rathé (Alejandro
Ceballos); great-grandchildren,
Gwinna and Maia Wright, and
Olivia Kuncar; siblings, Leo
Silber, Leon Silber, and Edith
(Joseph) Bookstein.
Roslyn was born in
Daugavpils, Latvia, moving
to the U.S. in 1937. She was
a graduate of Detroit Central
High School, Wayne State
University and Purdue.
She raised their children
in Cleveland and then
Minneapolis and taught
chemistry and math at
Minneapolis Community
College.
After her retirement, she
enjoyed a Yiddish literature
group and exercising at the
JCC. She was in good health
until her last few months when,
as she often said, she was “long
past my expiration date.”
DR. EARL T.
HECKER, 88, of
Bloomfield Hills,
died July 22, 2023.
Dr. Hecker is
survived by his
wife of 61 years, Elaine Hecker;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Nancy Hecker-Denschlag and
Johannes Hecker Denschlag,
Deborah Hecker, Susan Hecker,
and Jennifer and Timothy
Anderson; grandchildren,
Joshua and Simon Denschlag,
Harrison, Aden and Benjamin
Hecker, Isaac Herzenberg,
Alex “Trinle” Tsomo, and
Jack and Elijah Anderson;
great-granddaughter, Sofia
Tsomo; sister and brother-in-
law, Marlene and Rod Verner;
many other loving relatives and
friends.
Dr. Hecker was the loving
brother of the late Karen and
the late Roland Van Fleet; the
dear brother-in-law of the late
Joseph Cohen, and the late
Daniel and the late Gail Cohen.
Interment was at Great
Lakes National Cemetery.

DR. HERBERT
ISRAEL
KRICKSTEIN, 89,
of Boca Raton,
Fla., and Grosse
Pointe Woods,
passed away on
July 2, 2023,
surrounded by his loving
family.
Born on April 28, 1934, in
Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the
son of Rabbi Joseph and Myrtle
Krickstein and the brother of
the late Bette Jean (Raymond)
Goldblum.
Herb attended the University
of Michigan for both
undergraduate and medical
school. He served as Chief of
Pathology and director of labs
at St. John Hospital in Detroit
and was elected president of the
American Society for Clinical
Pathology.
His passion for sports began
in his youth, playing tennis in
high school and even earning
a tryout with the Detroit
Tigers. He later found joy
in coaching and sharing his
passion for sports with his
children and grandchildren,
including guiding his son,
Aaron, and granddaughter,
Morgan, to successful careers
in professional tennis and golf,
respectively.
In his later years, Herb
dedicated his time to the
Morgan Pressel Foundation,
honoring the memory of
his eldest daughter Kathryn
Krickstein Pressel. In addition
to his love for his medical
profession and sports, Dr.
Krickstein will always be
remembered for helping others,
giving great advice and, most
importantly, his love for his
wife, Evelyn, four children and
beloved grandkids.
Dr. Krickstein is survived
by his wife, Evelyn; children,
Rachel (Mark) Schulz,
Renee (Gary) Kay, and
Aaron (Bianca) Krickstein;
grandchildren, Morgan Pressel,
Madison (Ryan) Kozlowski,
Stanley (Rebecca) Kay, Mitchell
(Alayna) Pressel, Marissa
(Rodrigo) de Paula, Mikaela
Schulz, Jade Krickstein, Kendall
Schulz and Joseph Krickstein;
great-grandchildren, Zayn
and Elliott Pressel; niece,
Tracey Goldblum; nephews,
Philip (Lauren) Goldblum
and John (Asmita) Goldblum;
many great-nieces and great-
nephews.
