person. Joel had a successful
career, working for more than
35 years for American Express
before retiring to Portugal.
Mr. Colman is survived by
his beloved mother, Harriet
Colman; his sister and broth-
er-in-law, Jill and Paul Ruskin;
his brothers and sisters-in-law,
Jonathan and Suzi Colman,
and Jeffrey Colman and Ellen
Nissenbaum; nieces and
nephews, Samuel and Chagit
Ruskin, Shoshana Ruskin and
Ari Lev Fornari, Avital Ruskin,
Jessica and Eric Cheng, Zack
and Bina Colman, Jeff and
Hien Ferber, Sandy and Chris
Brine, Nora Coman and Jakob
Cohen and Gabriel Colman;
grandnieces and grandneph-
ews. Joel is also remembered
by a large circle of devoted
friends. He loved his dogs,
Roscoe and Toby.
Joel was predeceased by his
father, Albert M. Colman.
Interment was at Beth El

Bloomfield, died
April 22, 2023.
He is survived by his
beloved wife, Helen Cozzetto;
son, Silvio Cozzetto; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Lisa and
Hicham Farabi; grandchildren,
Ilan and Jonah Farabi and
Gabriel Cozzetto; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Carlo and Mary
Cozzetto, and Joe and Mafalda
Cozzetto; sister-in-law, Varda
(Paul) Wasser; many loving
nieces, nephews, other family
members and friends.

HERMAN
GOLDSMITH,
91, of Waterford,
died April 26,
2023, surrounded
by his loving fam-
ily.
A native Detroiter, Herman
held many jobs, but he’s best
known as the owner of Joe’s
Army Navy stores. He prided
himself on his work ethic,
and even when he retired he
continued to go into the store
every day because it brought
him so much joy.
He leaves behind his wife of
61 years, Barbara Goldsmith;
his children, Dana and Gail
Lawrence, Jemmis and Bob
Lawrence-Plant, and Jeff and
Sue Goldsmith; his grand-
children, Noah and Megan
Lawrence, Collin and Liza
Lawrence, Robin and Rachel
Lawrence, Alec Goldsmith,
Sophie Lawrence, Samantha
Goldsmith and Sarah Plant;
his great-grandchildren,
Alonzo, Victor, Clio, Alexis,
Astrid and Mavis.
Mr. Goldsmith was prede-
ceased by his parents, Anna
and Morris Goldsmith; his
brothers, Thomas Goldsmith
and Harvey Goldsmith; and
great-granddaughter, Beatrix
Lawrence.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park. Contributions
