GERALDINE
“GERRY”
PALMER, 87, of
Royal Oak, passed
away peacefully on
Wednesday, April
12, 2023, in her
home with her daughters by her
side.
Her long life was filled with
family, friends, art and beloved
pets. She had a long love-filled
marriage to Marvin Palmer, who
passed away 10 months ago. The
two of them built an amazing life
together.
In her home, Geraldine
merged the two most import-
ant parts of her life: family
and art. She was an artist at
her core, with a rare ability to
create what she could imagine
and then share that vision with
those around her. Colored
pencils never left her hand,
even through her last week of
life. The family feels lucky to
have her drawings and paint-
ings in their own homes. Her
devotion to the color blue is
something all three daughters
share, like a genetic inheri-
tance.
The family feels fortunate
to have been supported by a
wonderful team of caregivers,
Blossom, Marie and Mima, who
cared for their parents for many
years. It’s impossible to thank
them enough.
Mrs. Palmer was the beloved
wife for 67 years of the late
Stanley “Marvin” Palmer; cher-
ished mother of Linda and Jim
Greenwood, Cathy and Steven
Goldsmith, and Marci Mayer
and Chris Kriss; proud grand-
mother of Sarah Greenwood
and her fiancé, Brian Ducoffe,
Samuel Goldsmith and Ayla
Lorraine, Joel Goldsmith
and Mattie Adam, Benjamin
Mayer and Alicia Morrier,
Daniel and Rachel Mayer,
Jason Greenwood, Emma Kriss
and Hannah Kriss; adoring
great-grandmother of Tallulah
Mayer, Eavie Mayer and Lily
Valdes-Greenwood. The family
would also like to thank Becca,
Sabrina and Cindy from Open
Arms Hospice for their care and
support.
Mrs. Palmer was the devoted
daughter of the late Archie and
the late Sophia Zeitlin.
Interment was at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may
