LEON BELIN, 91, of
Southfield, died Jan. 4,
2019.
He is survived by his
wife of 68 years, Marilyn
Belin; daughters and
sons-in-law, Gayle Belin
and Gary Kessler, Lori and Ben David;
grandchildren, Hilary and David Boyle,
Daniel Frost, Jamie David, Brandon
and Evan David; great-grandchildren,
Cohen Foster Boyle and Avery Madalyn
David; sister and brother-in-law, Rhoda
and Norman Rittman; sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Gloria and Leonard
Brozgold.
Mr. Belin was the devoted son of the
late William and the late Rose Belinsky;
the dear brother-in-law of the late Sara
Schwartz.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial

DR. GARY DAVID
BERGMAN, 82, of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 4,
2019.
He was a native of
Detroit and a graduate
of both the University
of Michigan and the University of
Michigan School of Medicine. He was a
dedicated ophthalmologist, who cared
for many in our community for more
than 50 years.
Dr. Bergman is survived by his
beloved wife of 60 years, Judith
Bergman; daughters, Lauren (Randall)
and Debra; son, Ronald (Miriam);
grandchildren, Zachary, Rachel and
Xzavier; brothers-in-law, Robert (Marcy)
Katz and Jeffrey (Susan) Katz; many
nieces, nephews, cousins and dear
friends.
A memorial service will be held at
Adat Shalom Synagogue on Sunday,
Jan. 13, at 2:30 p.m. Contributions may
be made to the University of Michigan
School of Medicine or the Alzheimer’

He was the devoted

LOUIS LANDAU, 94,
of Oak Park, died Dec.
30, 2018.

An Army veteran, he
served in World War
II. Mr. Landau was
active with the city of
Oak Park, serving as
the chairman of the zoning board
for more than 20 years and on many
other boards and commissions.
He was known as Lulu the Clown
as a volunteer for the Oak Park
parades and was a committeeman for
Boy Scout Troop #23. Though he was
active with EDS Science Fairs, local,
regional and internationally, there
was still nothing as important to him
as his family.
Mr. Landau is survived by his
wife of 67½ years, Joy Landau; chil-
dren, Sharon (Paul) Levine of Oak
Park, Maureen (Ray) Landau of
Southfield, Barry (Cheryl) Landau
of Rochester Hills; grandchildren,
Jennifer (Doug Ramey) Levine,
Elisheva (Anthony) Mosco, Shoshana
(Scott) Abromovich, Teri (Jon)
Falcon, Heather (Eric) Landau-
