Dr. Adam and Amber Vieder of Royal Oak are proud to
announce the birth of their second child, Charlotte Alise
Vieder. Older brother Grayson has taken to his role of big
brother seamlessly. Grandparents Alberto and Debby Katan
of West Bloomfield, Mark and Gayla Vieder of Boca Raton,
Fla., and Matthew and Tracy McKenzie of Farmington Hills
all welcome their newest grandchild with immense joy and love.

Andrew Seth
Bertman (Avraham
Moshe), son of Michel
and Matt Bertman,
will be called to the
bimah for his bar
mitzvah at Temple
Israel in West Bloomfield on
Friday, Nov. 16, 2018. He will be
joined in celebration by his siblings
Jordyn and Josh. Andrew is the
loving grandchild of Elaine and Dr.
Stephen Bertman, and the late
Rosalyn and Robert A. Schwartz.
Andrew is a student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
For his most meaningful mitzvah
project, he gave his time to help
distribute food at Yad Ezra in
Berkley to assist those in need in
our community.

Nathaniel Asher
Bloom, son of Dr.
Jennifer Cohen and
Gregory Bloom, will
lead the congregation
in prayer as he
becomes a bar
mitzvah at Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on Friday, Nov. 16,
2018. He will be joined in
celebration by his sisters Olivia and
Isabel, proud grandparents Annie
and Robert Cohen, and Adrienne
and Norman Bloom, and great-
grandmother Bobbie Miller.
Nathaniel is a student at
Birmingham Covington School.
As part of his mitzvah project,
he gave his time as a volunteer
buddy for a player in the Miracle
League of Michigan. In addition,
he organized an event that raised
funds to sponsor a Miracle League
of Michigan team.

2018, as they lead the

congregation in prayer
on the occasion of
their b’not mitzvah.
They are the loving
daughters of Lisa and
Dan Butler. Joining in
their celebration will
Sydney Butler be their sister Madison
and proud grandparents Fran Nagle
and Jack Halifi, Kerry Nagle, Barbara
and David Moss, and Debra and
Steve Butler.
Jadyn and Sydney attend West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
They each performed many mitzvah
projects, but both felt their most mean-
ingful project involved raising funds
for the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation. By hosting an event at
DEFY Detroit, together they raised
more than $1,100 to help find a cure
for Type One Diabetes.

Ava Grace Chupack,
daughter of Stephanie
and Nick Chupack, will
become a bat mitzvah at
Birmingham Temple in
Farmington Hills on
Friday, Nov. 16, 2018.
She will be joined in celebration by her
sister Hannah. Ava is the loving grand-
child of Susan and Charles Chupack,
LouAnn and Daniel MacDougall, and
the late Gary Sparkman.
Ava attends Clifford Smart Middle
School in Commerce Township. As
part of her mitzvah projects, she exten-
sively researched the life of Michelle
Obama and chose to volunteer her

time to projects that Mrs. Obama
would find meaningful, including
helping to care for the school garden
at Keith Elementary School in West
Bloomfield.

Maxwell Raymond
Eisman will become a
bar mitzvah at Temple
Israel in West
Bloomfield on Saturday,
Nov. 17, 2018. He is the
loving son of Lisa and
Heath Eisman and brother of Zachary
and Jackson. Joining in his celebration
will be his proud grandparents Janis
and Harvey Eisman, Sally and Ron
Lamer, Pamela and Anton Sheridan,
and great-grandparents Caroline and
Chester Machiela.
Max is a student at Hillside Middle
School in Northville. For one of his
mitzvah projects, he volunteered at
Book Stock, which promotes adult and
youth literacy.

Brett Alvin Krauss
(Avram) will be called
to the Torah as a bar
mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 17, 2018, at
Temple Shir Shalom in
West Bloomfield. He
will be joined in celebration by his
proud parents, Drs. Barb and Dan
Krauss, and sister Jordyn. He is the lov-
ing grandson of Myrna and Sid
Konikow of Farmington Hills, and
Cherie and Perry Krauss of Calabasas,
Calif.
Brett is a student at Derby Middle
School in Birmingham. For his
mitzvah project, he volunteered for
PeerCorps in Detroit. He enjoyed help-
ing to revitalize the Detroit community
through gardening and serving the
needy.

Jonah Gabriel Miller,
son of Elissa and Rabbi
Jason Miller, will
become a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Nov, 17,
2018, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills. In addition to chant-
ing from the Torah and the haftorah,
Jonah will lead the congregation in
prayer. He will be joined in the sim-
chah by his older brother Joshua and

his twin sister Talya. Jonah is the
grandson of Jacqueline and Dr. Ronald
Lorfel, Bobbie Miller and Gary Miller.
Jonah is a student in the sev-
enth grade at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. He has volunteered in the com-
munity with several nonprofit orga-
nizations, and his most meaningful
mitzvah project was with the Because
We Care program through Jewish
Family Service, which included pack-
ing Chanukah bags and decorating a
therapy room.

Talya Arielle Miller,
daughter of Elissa and

Green, and Zita and Ludwig
Gottesman.
Talia is a student at Derby Middle
School in Birmingham. For one of her
mitzvah projects, she is organizing a
book drive for Rx for Reading.
