Concert Of Colors

The annual Concert of Colors
returns to Midtown Detroit to
bridge the cultural gap with a
diversity of music with free con-
certs. Among them: the 11th-an-
nual Don Was All-Star Revue,
founded by native Oak Parker
and Grammy-winning producer
Don Was (July 14 at Orchestra
Hall), who will lead musicians
in Music of Rebellion, featuring
Tino Gross & Harmonica Shah,
Alan Franklin, Nadir Omowale
and more. Also on the lineup:
Singer-songwriter and electric
guitarist Mayaeni (shown), also
from Oak Park — the daughter
of a Sierra Leonean mom and
Jewish dad (making her, as she
