JEROME “JERRY” ACKER, 77, of Boca
Raton, Fla., passed away May 15, 2018.
Jerry was born in Detroit, son of Ruth
and Sam Acker. He attended Mumford
High School and graduated from
Wayne State University with a degree
in accounting. He was a member of the
Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity.
Jerry was an extraordinary man who
woke up each day feeling blessed to be
a husband, a father and a poppy to his
beloved grandchildren. He is survived
by his wife, Ronne; his children, Kevin
(Anne Kummer), Lisa (Peter Friedman)
and Julie (Scott Sack); his grandchil-
dren, Emma, Noah, Miles, Anna, Lucie,
Ethan and Sam; his sisters-in-law,
Carrie (Roger) Kushner and Cindy
(Melvin) Schwartz; and many loving
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial donations can be made
to the Association for Frontotemporal
Degeneration at theaftd.org/
support-aftds-mission to honor Jerry’s
courageous journey with the disease.

ELAINE DVORKIN, 86, of San Ramon,
Calif., died May 15, 2018.
She is survived by her daughter,
Amy Silverman; grandchildren, Ashley
and Aaron Miller, Evan and Kendra
Silverman, Harrison and Joanna
Silverman; great-grandchild, Charlotte
Miller; many, other loving family mem-
bers and friends.
Mrs. Dvorkin was the beloved wife of
the late David Dvorkin; the sister of the
late Marty (the late Esther) Kaber.
Interment was held at Nusach Hari
Cemetery in Ferndale. Contributions
may be made to the Leukemia
Lymphoma Association or to a char-
ity of one’s choice. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

By now, you know each other so well you feel you’re
part of each other (and you are). You know exactly
what each other is thinking before it’s said.

With an event as important as this, it never hurts to
discuss your choices and plan ahead. Once you make

died May 14, 2018.
She is survived
by her sons, Harvey
Freedman and his
partner, Sharyn

Freedman
Karen Freedman;
grandchildren,
Marie and Tim Freedman-Dorminy;
great-grandchildren, Austin and
Madeline Dorminy.
Mrs. Freedman was the beloved
wife of the late Samuel Freedman;
the loving sister of the late Anne
Gruberman, and the late Eva and the
late Philip Aframe.
Interment was at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may
