Leo attends Derby Middle School
in Birmingham. For his mitzvah
project, he will donate a portion
of his bar mitzvah gifts to Jewish
Hospice in memory of his late
grandfather. This is an organization
that Leo feels a personal connection
to and believes strongly helps those
when they are most in need.

ose Fink Freedman marked
her 97th birthday on Feb.
18 with two weeks of cel-
ebrating lunches, dinners, con-
certs and family get-togethers,
culminating in a five-day vacation
at her son and daughter-in-law’s
home in Tiburon, Calif., to enjoy
more family time. Her children,
Michael and Nanci Freedman, and
Wendy Freedman; her sister, Sylvia
Smaller; Brenda Saperstein and
many nieces, nephews and friends
all wish her many more years of continued good health so they can enjoy her
company and upbeat personality for more birthdays. •
