Cantor 100th

velyn Cantor of West
Bloomfield celebrated her
100th birthday on Oct. 14.
The occasion was marked by a
gathering of the family at a party
organized and hosted by her
granddaughter Jaime Ben and
husband, Michael, and co-hosted
by her son Michael Cantor. Also in
attendance were grandchildren,
Joshua and Amy Cantor; daugh-
ter-in-law, Sherry Cantor; great-
grandchildren, Caryn, Matthew
and Hannah Ben; brother, Joseph
Grossman; sister-in-law, Alice Cantor; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Cantor is the wife of the late Harold Cantor; mother of the late Detroit Free
Press, Detroit News and Jewish News columnist George Cantor, and mother-
in-law of the late Joyce Cantor. •

Rubinstein 95th

harlotte Rubinstein, a U.S.
Navy veteran, turned 95
the end of October. The
glorious event was celebrated
at a luncheon with her children,
grandchildren and great-grand-
children. Mrs. Rubinstein was
born and grew up in Glassport, Pa.
She received a bachelor’s degree
from the University of Michigan
and a master’s degree from the
University of Pittsburgh. She has
lived in the Detroit area the last 68
years. •

obin and Roy Rosen of
Franklin are thrilled to
announce the engagement
of their daughter Dr. Katie Marie
Rosen, to Matthew Kurzmann, son
of Lisa and Danny Kurzmann of
West Bloomfield.
Dr. Rosen is a graduate of
the University of Michigan and
the Michigan State College of
Osteopathic Medicine. She is chief
resident in her urologic surgery
residency, which she will complete
in June. She will join the Michigan Institute of Urology after graduation.
Mr. Kurzmann, a graduate of Indiana University, is a vice president of
investments with the Affordable Housing Advisors of Marcus & Millichap.
A New Year’s Eve wedding at Congregation Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield
is planned. The couple will reside in Bloomfield Township. •
