T

apper’s Diamonds & Fine
Jewelry took the wraps
off its newest store at the
Somerset Collection in Troy Oct.
21. What makes it stand out from
all others? A Bridal Bar offering
the largest selection of engage-
ment rings in Metro Detroit (which
will be celebrated at a Wedding
Weekend event Nov. 10-12) — plus
a bar serving Michigan-brewed
beer. The 5,600-square-foot loca-
tion, on the second level of the
mall’s north side, is also connected
to Michigan’s first and only Rolex
shop, operated by Tapper’s.
“The new Rolex shop is a
tribute to the timelessness and
perfection of the leading Swiss
watch brand, operated with [our]
commitment to superior custom-
er service,” says Mark Tapper, the
jewelry store’s president.

Founded in 1977, Tapper’s has
been offering fashion and fine
jewelry, loose diamonds, engage-
ment rings and luxury timepieces
for four decades. The family-
owned retailer is Michigan’s
largest direct diamond importer,
employing more than 80 associ-
ates at Somerset and its two
other locations: Orchard Mall
in West Bloomfield and Twelve
Oaks Mall in Novi. Several mem-
bers of the Tapper family help
run the business.
“Over our 40-year history,
trends and styles have changed,
but one thing has remained the
same — our tradition of treating
every visitor like family,” Tapper
says. “With this new location,
we’ll be able to provide a more
personalized and engaging shop-
ping experience than ever before.”
