ALAN LLOYD ROTHBERGER, 66, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Aug. 28, 2017.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y.,
Alan attended and graduated from
Harper College and Northwestern
University. He is survived by his
son and daughter-in-law, Jared
and Lisa Rothberger of Bloomfield
Hills; daughter, Amy Rothberger
of Brooklyn; brother and sister-in-
law, Mark and Helen Rothberger
of Staten Island, N.Y; sister and
brother-in-law, Harriet and Jeff
Baron of Brooklyn; grandchildren,
Milo Rothberger, Levi Rothberger;
nieces, Jennifer Baron and Rachel
Braunstein and Laura Baron. He is
also survived by many other loving-
family members, friends and the
caring staff of Jewish Hospice and
Chaplaincy Network, Hospice of
Michigan and Georgian Bloomfield
Nursing Home.

PAULA SPINNER,
91, of Boca Raton,
Fla., died Aug. 22,
2017.
Paula and her
husband, Aron,
were Holocaust
survivors and built
Spinner
their new lives in
Detroit from 1951-
1987.
She will be
remembered for her
kind heart, chari-
table acts and years
of volunteering at
her synagogue. Her
home was always open; her holiday
meals included anyone left alone;
her kitchen was filled with cook-
ing aromas. She was famous for her
cookies and rugelach, which will be
missed by all.
Mrs. Spinner is survived by her
children, Nina Spinner-Sands and
Lynn Spinner (Ben Mirtenbaum);
grandchildren, Daniel Mirtenbaum
and Meagan Mirtenbaum (Robert
Rosenberg); many other loving fam-
ily members and friends.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Aron Spinner.
JACK
WEINBERGER, 90,
of Oak Park, died
Aug. 29, 2017.
Jack was a
Holocaust survivor
and a veteran of
the Korean War.

RUTH WEINSTEIN
KLEINHEKSEL, 65,
of Holland, Mich.,
died Aug. 3, 2017,
following an
extended illness.
Born in Detroit,
Ruth graduated
Weinstein
from Southfield
Kleinheksel
High School and
Western Michigan
University. In 1975,
she married Timothy Kleinheksel
and moved to Holland.
Besides her husband, Tim,
Ruth is survived by daughters,
Amy (Mahesh) Narayanan, Mindy
(Denny) Segar; four grandchil-
dren, Josiah, Daithan, Kaelin and
Elijah; sister and brothers, Marsha
(the late Harvey) Auslander,
Sheldon (Marcie) Weinstein, David
(Karen) Weinstein, Gary (Eileen)
Weinstein; brothers and sisters-
in-law, Dale (Kathy) Kleinheksel,
Cal (Nancy) Kleinheksel, Glenn
(Beth) Kleinheksel, Ken (Nancee)
Kleinheksel and Joy (Carl) Meyer.
