Jack and Emily Flood

Jack and Emily Flood will become
b’nai mitzvah on Saturday, Aug. 26, at
Congregation Beth Shalom in Oak
Park. They are the children of Bonnie

Sherr Flood and Todd Flood and the
siblings of Justin. They will be joined
in celebration by proud grandparents
Linda and Ron Sherr, and Betty Amy.
Jack and Emily are also the grandchil-
dren of the late Thure Flood and the
late Jon Amy.
Jack and Emily are students at
Norup International School in Oak
Park. For their mitzvah project, they
helped serve meals to seniors at the
Teitel Jewish Apartments in Oak
Park and enjoyed spending time
with the residents.

he children of Ron and
Linda Sherr of Farmington
Hills happily announce
their parents’ 55th wedding anni-
versary on Aug. 21. They are the
proud owners of Action Tours Inc.,
highlighting the Detroit area to
locals and visitors for more than
30 years. Ron and Linda celebrat-
ed with a cruise to Alaska and a
family dinner to honor the occa-
sion. They have three daughters
and five grandchildren. •

Bloomfield celebrated his
92nd birthday in August
with his children and grandchil-
dren at a family dinner. An avid
card player, he also enjoys watch-
ing sports and spending time with
family and friends. •

ay and Nancy Berman of West
Bloomfield and Arun and
Smita Patel of Laurel, Md., are
delighted to announce the engage-
ment of their children Jeremy Paul
Berman and Sesha Arun Patel.
Jeremy is a graduate of the
University of Michigan and
Wayne State University School of
Medicine. Sesha is a graduate of
the University of Maryland and
CAHSU Medical School.
Jeremy and Sesha met while
working together as internal
medicine faculty at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. For the last year,
the couple has lived in Minneapolis while Jeremy completes a cardiology fel-
lowship at the University of Minnesota and where Sesha is on the internal
medicine faculty.
A September 2017 wedding in Minneapolis is planned. •
