RENEE EISENBERG,
87, passed away peace-
fully at home asleep
during the early eve-
ning Feb. 24, 2017.
Her local fam-
ily tree nowhere near
Eisenberg
describes a full story.
Her deep New York
roots spanned from
Ohio to Michigan, clear across the coun-
try and around the globe. No matter
where any of the family traveled, Renee
always said, “While you are in […], you
must call […] and say hello.”
Thanks to Renee’s lifelong friends, Ed
and Joyce Welford, her world included a
wonderous 20-year romance with Lloyd
Strausz (recently departed). Lloyd’s
children, Jo and Richard; Richard’s
wife, Brenda; Lloyd’s grandchildren and
great-grandchildren all lovingly envel-
oped Renee as one of their very own.
Renee was constantly armed with
advice to better one’s life. She was an
immaculate dresser, a patron of the arts,
an excellent cook, a fine food aficio-
nado. She was grandmother to Sasha; a
mother-in-law who treated Marshall’s
wife, Shelley, and Larry’s partner, Vicki,
as daughters.
Her lifespan was filled with deep love,
friendship and affection for everyone
she met.
She was a beloved mother, identical
twin to Elaine Gelda, former Temple
Emanu-El Sisterhood leader, avid bridge
player in a dedicated group of friends
who continue playing to this day. By
her side were her eldest son, Laurence;
daughter, Laurel; and youngest son,
Marshall.
Her husband Bernie was laid to rest
in 1997.
