Youth Mental Health First Aid® Training
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID ® TRAINING
SUICIDE ALERTNESS TRAINING
Mental Health First Aid® USA is an 8-hour training that
teaches how to help someone who is developing a mental
health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it
helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs
of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
Youth Mental Health First Aid® training is designed, in
particular, to teach parents, caregivers, educators, nurses and
others how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health crisis
or addictions challenge.
Suicide-alert people are better prepared to connect individuals
with thoughts of suicide with life-affirming help. safeTALK is
a half-day training session that helps participants recognize
a person with thoughts of suicide and connect them with
resources.
safeTALK is open to anyone 15 or older, regardless of prior
experience. Both professionals and members of the general
public can benefit from safeTALK.
