brate her bat mitzvah
on Saturday, Dec. 3, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield.
Jacob
Participating in the
ceremony will be her
parents, Lauren and
Joel, along with her sisters Merrick and
Autumn and brothers Andrew and
Michael. Proud grandparents are
Stephanie and Alan Dorfman, and Vi
Jacob. Micayla is also the granddaughter
of the late Marty Jacob.
Micayla is a seventh-grade student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit
in Farmington Hills.

Torah on the occasion
of her bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 3, at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield. She is the
loving daughter of
Schiffer
Deborah and Eric
Schiffer and sister of
Sarah, Zoe and Jillian.
Her proud grandparents are Sheila and
Daniel Schiffer, Dolores Westerman and
Michael Westerman.
Emily is a student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. Among her many mitzvah expe-
riences, she found volunteering with
Jewish Federation’s Tov Committee, pre-
paring Rosh Hashanah and Chanukah
packages for seniors, to be the most
meaningful.

ea Fine is 92 years old this month. She
was a devoted daughter and wonderful
violin player. Bea grew up in Detroit
and worked as a secretary in a federal gov-
ernment office. She loves classical music,
baking, painting and visiting with her
friends.

arla and Mark Canvasser of
West Bloomfield are delighted to
announce the engagement of their
daughter Lindsay Alyssa Canvasser to Jeffrey
Chase Waldman, son of Marci Waldman and
Jonathan Waldman of Denver, Colo.
Lindsay received her bachelor of arts from
the University of Michigan and bachelor of
science in nursing from the University of
Detroit-Mercy. She works as a nurse in the
emergency department at the University of
Michigan.
Jeffrey received his bachelor of arts from
Columbia University and his doctor of
medicine from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. He works
as an anesthesiologist at the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of
Michigan.
A wedding is planned for December 2016 in Bloomfield Hills.
