DR. SIMON COOK, 81, of Farmington Hills,
died Oct. 25, 2016.

He is survived by his beloved
wife, Sandra Cook; daughter and
son-in-law, Denise and Bradley
Weisman; son, Craig Cook; sister,
Elaine Epstein; grandchildren,
Courtney (Kevin) Wiley, Adam
(Sarah) Cook, Brooke (Nick) Atkins,
Jordan Weisman, Austin Weisman;
great-grandchildren, Sydney, Simon,
Jace and Kylie; many loving nieces,
nephews, other family members and
friends.
Dr. Cook was the father of the late
Lauri Ann Cook; the brother-in-law
of the late Daniel Epstein.
Contributions may be made to
Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy
Network or to a charity of one’s
choice. Interment was held at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in
Livonia. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

Obituaries

IRIS
CZAJKOWSKI, 80,
of West Bloomfield,
died Oct. 25, 2016.
She lived to
teach and was
proud of all of her
accomplishments,
Czajkowski
especially making
an impression on
so many kids in
West Bloomfield 1966-1988 at Green,
Doherty and Orchard Lake Middle
School.
She was an accomplished artist,
selling her art at galleries in the
area and earning awards at local art
shows. She was a graduate of Cass
Tech High School and the University
of Michigan, class of 1958. She was
an avid football fan, watching U-M
and the Lions every weekend. She
was full of spunk, drive and love. She
taught us very well.
Mrs. Czajkowski is survived by
her daughter and son-in-law, Ailene
Corlin and Sam Simko; grand-
children, Melanie Corlin, Justin
Corlin and Carly Simko; sister,
Adrienne Labowitch; nieces and
nephews, Aimee and Scott Lamb,
Hardy Labowitch, Alan and Anita
Resnick, Rhonda and Paul Rochlen,
Debbie Cohen and Andy Pass. She is
also survived by Fred’s children and
grandchildren; and her dear friend,
Robert Corlin.
Mrs. Czajkowski was the beloved
wife of the late Fred Czakowski;
the loving aunt of the late Robert
Labowitch.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may

nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Dishell was the beloved father
of the late Amy Beth Dishell; devoted
son of the late Robert and the late
Toddy Dishell; cherished father-in-
law of the late Dezso P. Csanky; dear
brother of the late Kenneth Dishell;
loving son-in-law of the late Molly
and the late B. David Ruby.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park

CHARLES M.
FRANKEL, 89, of
Huntington Woods,
died Oct. 28, 2016.
He played bas-
ketball and baseball
for Michigan State
University from
Frankel C. 1988 1944-1945 and
for Wayne State
University from
1947-1950. He also played with the
U.S. Navy Oklahoma Skyjackets
basketball team from 1945-1947.
At Michigan State, he was the first
freshman basketball player to win a
letter. At Wayne State, he pitched a
no-hitter, won Best Athlete Award
and was elected to the Hall of
Fame. At Northern High School, he
won nine letters and was elected
to the All-State basketball team.
Mr. Frankel was inducted into the
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame
in 1996.
