ANITA MELLEN, 67, of
Scottsdale, Ariz., for-
merly of Detroit, died
June 21, 2016.
She is survived by
her husband, Mark
Mellen; mother, Henny
Spector; brother and

sister, Steven Spector
and Louise Spector;
nephews, Benjamin
Spector, Samuel Spector and his fiance,
Glenn Greilsamer; grandchildren,
Cassidy and Taylor Derieg; sister-in-
law and brother-in-law, Karen and
Jerry Paull; nieces, Laurie and Tracey
Litt; aunt, Gertrude Ehrlichman; many
cousins and friends from Arizona and
Detroit.
Mrs. Mellen was the devoted daughter
of the late Martin Spector; the loving

niece of the late Howard Ehrlichman,
the late Nathan and the late Ceil Spector,
the late Sylvia and the late Stuart
Levinson.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

FLORENCE SEGEL, 97, of Bloomfield
Hills, died July 2, 2016.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Aleta and Kenneth
Meskin of Bloomfield Hills, Linda and
David Pickering of Detroit; grandchil-
dren, Lorin (Rebecca) Meskin, Marcie
(James) Carlson, Ross (Barbara) Meskin,
Geoffrey Pickering and Lesley Pickering;
great-grandchildren, Caleb, Evelyn and
Darla.
Mrs. Segel was the beloved wife of the
late Dr. Nathan P. Segel.
Interment was held at the Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.

GARY DENNIS STERN,
74, of Gainesville, Ga.,
passed away at Northeast
Georgia Medical Center
June 16, 2016.
He was in born
in Detroit to Irving
Lawrence and Blanche
Stern
Ida Stern. He enjoyed
showing and breeding
Portuguese water dogs.
During the last 27 years, he was always sur-
rounded by multiple PWDs.
Gary was self-employed in various busi-
nesses during his life. He was most proud
of being an interim newspaper publisher in
Detroit, New York, Minneapolis, Baltimore
and St. Louis. He started the first home
health care agency in Michigan. In Florida,
he was a co-owner of various rental proper-
ties. Among other businesses, he was a real
estate broker, restauranteur and others too
numerous to mention. He loved life and
always wanted to experience it to the utmost.
Mr. Stern is survived by his wife, Marti
(Martha Martin); children, Debbie Achiron,
Denise(Mark) Mackey, Barb (Cory) Rubin;
grandchildren, Matthew, Leah, Alyssa,
Joshua, Meredith, Jacob, Nicole, Danielle,
Ryan, Preston, and Ashton; brothers, Mark
Stern (Bev Kohn), Victor (Angela) Stern;

many nieces, nephews and good friends. He
was loved and adored by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded
in death by his sister, Carol Adler.
A memorial service will be held at
Dorfman Funeral Home 30440 12 Mile
Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334, on July
14, 2016, at 4 p.m. Contributions may be

JOSEPH ISAAC
WALDMAN,74, of
Orchard Lake, died June
28, 2016.
He is survived by his
son and daughter-in-
law, Zander and Kelly
Waldman of New Hudson;
Waldman

Zoe; many other loving
family members and friends.
Mr. Waldman was the brother of the late
Melvin Waldman.
Interment was held at the Great Lakes
National Cemetery in Holly. Contributions
