ROBERT A. “ROB” RUBY, 67, for-
merly of Oak Park, died May 17, 2016,
at Stanford University Hospital in Palo
Alto, Calif., where he was receiving car-
diac care.
Rob made his home in Piedmont,
Calif. He was a leader in numer-
ous Jewish organizations, including
the Jewish Federation of the East
Bay, of which he was past president;
Berkeley Hillel, of which he was also
past president; and B’nai B’rith Youth
Organization, where he served on the
international board of directors. He was
respected and loved by everyone who
knew him.
Rob is survived by his wife, Eileen
(Rose); son, Michael. He was the son of
the late Bert and the late Irene Ruby;
brother of Allen Ruby.

MAURICE
“MORRY”
SCHREIBER, 85, of
West Bloomfield, died
May 26, 2016.
He was a proud
graduate of the
University of Michigan
Schreiber
with a master’s in
c. 1981
education in 1955. He
served in the Air Force
Reserves.
During the 42 years he taught as a
Detroit public school teacher, he also
served on the executive board of the
Detroit Federation of Teachers. He
loved playing softball, basketball and
volleyball, and played sports into his
80s.
Mr. Schreiber is survived by his wife
of 41 years, Celia Rosenthal Schreiber;
son, Wade Rosenthal of Brooklyn, N.Y.;
daughters and sons-in-law, Miriam
and Charles Walter of Mountain View,
Calif., Sarah and Scott Latham of
Thornton, Colo.; granddaughter, Anna
Lois Latham; sister and brother-in-law,

Edie and Gabe Groner of Palo Alto;
many loving nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends; his devoted caregivers,
Evans, Patricia and Diane.
Mr. Schreiber was the loving brother
of the late Shirley Wolff.
Interment at Hebrew Memorial

Jeremey (Melissa) Wolf, Austin Jutte,
Adam Jutte, Brandon (Kristin) Wolf,
Zachary, Melissa and Brianna Wolf;
many loving great-nieces, great-neph-
ews, other family members and friends.
Interment took place at Clover
Hill Park Cemetery in Birmingham.
