died May 8, 2016.
She is survived by

Franklin, Denise Samuels and Jim Lemire
of Southfield, Sheryl and Jeffrey Lesser of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Katie
Rosen, Karen Rosen and fiance, Evan
Wasserman, Kelli Rosen, Corey Rosen,
Sarah Ann Lesser, Rachel Lesser, Zoe
Lesser, Anna Rose Lemire, Paul Lemire.
Mrs. Samuels was the beloved wife for
55 years of the late Harold J. Samuels; dear
sister of the late Arlen Gitlin.
Contributions may be made to any
public library or a charity of one’s choice.
Interment was held at Hebrew Memorial
Park. Arrangements by Hebrew Memorial
Chapel.
DOUGLAS SHAPIRO,
64, of Traverse City, died
May 9, 2016.
He is survived by his
loving partner of 37
years, Nancy Linkner
Lieberman; stepdaugh-
ter, Erika Rizak, and
Shapiro
her husband, Aaron;
grandchildren, Leah,
Eliza and Scarlett Rizak.
He is also survived by loving members of
the Linkner family; loving cousins, Ronnie
Walton and Gale Walton; his best friend,
Gloria Kogan.
Mr. Shapiro was the devoted son of the
late Leonard and the late Roma Shapiro.
Interment was at Machpelah Cemetery.

DR. BERNARD J. SIVAK, 88, of Ann
Arbor, died May 13, 2016.
He is survived by his daughters,
Marjorie Sivak of Royal Oak, Susan Sivak
of Huntington Woods and Ruth Fenton of
Clearwater, Fla.; son, Steven Sivak of Ann
Arbor; many loving friends and the medi-
cal community.
Dr. Sivak was the brother of the late
Roberta Levine.

Weiss
STEVEN DAVID
WEISS, 67, of Boca
Raton, Fla., formerly of
West Bloomfield, died
May 11, 2016.
He was raised in
the dairy business; his
family owned United
Dairies, which was a
Detroit staple from the
early 1920s.
Upon leaving college in 1972, Steve
started Dairy Products of Michigan, which
he sold in 2000.
Mr. Weiss is survived by his wife, Linda
Weiss; children, Samantha and Jameson
Proctor, and Jeffrey Weiss; grandchildren,
Leni and Frances Proctor; mother-in-law,
Nancy Baron; brothers and sisters-in-law,
Dr. Matthew Weiss and Dr. Jean Nelson,
Richard and Donna Weiss; sister-in-law
and brother-in-law, Denise and Elliott
Parr; many loving nieces and nephews,
other family members and friends.
Mr. Weiss was the devoted son of the
late Alfred “Sonny” Weiss and the late
Barbara Weiss; the dear son-in-law of the
late Leonard Baron.
Interment was at Eternal Light
Memorial Gardens in Florida.
