Kurtzer-Cantor

C

athy and Dr. David Cantor of West
Bloomfield and Carol and Bill
Kurtzer of Franklin Lakes, N.J., are
thrilled to announce the engagement of their
children Rob Cantor and Allison Kurtzer.
Rob graduated from the University of
Michigan in 2005 with degrees in cellular
and molecular biology and musicology. He
is a musician/composer and was a founding
member of the band Tally Hall.
Allison graduated from Indiana University
with a degree in communications. She is the
global marketing director of Animated Story
Boards and the managing director of the company’s Los Angeles office.
The couple met in New York City when they exited a subway and walked to
the same restaurant, each to meet a friend. Neither of their friends had arrived,
so Rob and Allison were directed to the bar where the only two seats were next
to each other. They were treated as a couple by the bartender and have been
together ever since.
The couple reside in Santa Monica, Calif. The groom’s brother-in-law, Rabbi
Benjamin Bar-Lev, will officiate the wedding in Garrison, N.Y., in late May.

aryn and Dr. Steve Gross of West
Bloomfield are thrilled to announce
the engagement of their son Ian
Gross to Amy Stern, daughter of Tobi and
Gary Cooper, and Allen and Cheryl Stern of
Minnesota.
Ian and Amy are graduates of Michigan
State University. They reside in Berkley.
Along with their proud families and many
friends, they are very excited for their
upcoming wedding this August in Detroit.

Serman-Loebl

L

inda and Jeffrey Serman of Franklin
and Judy Loebl of Huntington
Woods and Richard Loebl and Lisa
Rabinowicz of New York City are thrilled to
announce the engagement of their children
Jonathan Serman and Rachel Loebl.
Rachel earned her juris doctor from DePaul
University College of Law and is a practicing
lawyer. She is also the president of the Jewish
Bar Association of Michigan (JBAM).
Jonathan earned a medical degree from
Wayne State University and is a chief resident
at Oakwood Annapolis Family Medicine.
The couple met on a blind date set up by
mutual friends. The happy couple will be
married in May.
