87, of West Bloomfield,
died May 7, 2016.
He was the former
owner of Jerome’s
Shoes at Harvard Row
in Southfield.

He was the beloved husband of the

NEIL FINK, 76, of
West Bloomfield, died
May 8, 2016.
He was a compassion-
ate friend and mentor
to many young law-
yers and the last line
of defense for untold
Fink
numbers of people in
need.
As Justice Stephen
Markman of the Michigan Supreme
Court recently wrote, “No criminal
defense attorney was more highly
regarded than Neil Fink.” Neil was
known for his skill, integrity and empa-
thy. All those he represented knew that
he possessed not only the finest legal
mind, but also that he truly cared.
Mr. Fink was written about in The
Michigan Murders, Detroit’s Powers and
Personalities, Good Cop, Bad Verdict
and countless newspaper and magazine
articles.
He will be greatly missed by his
family, his friends and all of those he
touched in the criminal justice system.
Mr. Fink is survived by his spiri-
tual wife, Kimberly Stout; his first
love and former wife, Barbara Fink;
their two sons and daughter-in-law,
Darryl and Kim Fink, and Dale Fink;
Neil and Kimberly’s son, Wade Fink;
grandchildren, Shayna and Brian Moss,
and Dustin Fink; great-grandchildren,
Paxton and Harlow Moss; father-in-law
and mother-in-law, Joseph and Winona
Stout; sister-in-law, Shelly Stout; special
cousin, Dr. Carl Cohen, who was always
“the Marshall.”

husband of the late Edith Berenbaum;

HELEN LASKI, 94, of Boca Raton, Fla.,
died May 4, 2016.
She is survived by her husband of
55 years, Mendel “Manny” Laski; son
and daughter-in-law, Warren Laski and
Gretchen Silver of Illinois; grandchil-
dren, Mitchell Laski, Shana Laski and
Elana Laski; sister-in-law, Eva Laski;
many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and
grandnephews.
Mrs. Laski was the last surviving of
six children born to the late Charles and
the late Sophia Champagne; she was
the dear sister-in-law of the late Samuel
Laski.
Interment was at Oakview Cemetery.

COOPER HAUSER, 71,
of Royal Palm Beach,
Fla., formerly of
Michigan, passed away
May 4, 2016.
Vicky grew up in
Northwest
Detroit and
Hauser
attended Mumford
High School before
relocating to South
Florida, where she raised her family. She
had many friends in both places and was
always proud of her Detroit roots.
Mrs. Hauser is survived by her loving
husband, David Hauser; caring daughter,
Alissa Hauser; son, Bret Hauser; cher-
ished grandchildren, Raya Elise Hauser,
and Max David Hauser.
Mrs. Hauser was the daughter of the
late Frances Cooper Shapiro; and the
granddaughter of the late Sam Pilato.
